In Tides, Elemental, Helen Taith Curtis has crafted a debut poetry collection that resonates with the dualities of life—joy and loss, stillness and transformation. Rooted in a deep appreciation for language and its musicality, these poems navigate the emotional landscapes of personal and natural worlds. Curtis’s imagery captures both the ephemeral beauty of life and the enduring strength of memory, with verses that flow like tides through grief, renewal, and quiet revelation. This collection stands as a poignant exploration of the weathers of the heart, uniting the human experience with the elemental forces that shape it.

ABOUT Helen Taith Curtis:

Helen Taith Curtis began life in Beddington, Surrey, and is now happily settled in Derbyshire, by way of Wales and the Isle of Wight. Tides, Elemental is her first collection written over a time of joyous new life and of deep loss; the collection travels these weathers of the heart. She has honours degrees in English (1st class) and German, and it is her love of language and its music that underpins the imagination and emotion of these poems.
