Matthew Kosinski’s Your Human Shape is a restlessly inventive pamphlet in which the poet writes about pleasure, attraction, ecstasy and exorcism. Your Human Shape shows Kosinski developing new paradigms and ways of writing which push at the boundaries of form and language. These are poems which, to paraphrase Taylor Swift, “shine like fireworks over your sad empty town”.
 
Your Human Shape reimagines The Lesser Key of Solomon -  a 17th-century grimoire containing descriptions of 72 spirits purportedly sealed in a bronze vessel by the biblical King Solomon, alongside relevant conjuration instructions - as a poetic text. Each poem’s dedication references one of Solomon’s spirits. The individual poems serve as incantatory objects, sigils through which the spirits might manifest during the encounter between text and reader.
