Patrick Paridee Samuel’s And Another Thing is an audacious, shape-shifting collection that moves through queer identity, pop culture, desire, and dislocation with sharp wit and restless energy. The poems are tactile and cinematic, layering surreal imagery with the raw textures of memory, lust, and self-interrogation. Tarot figures, cult film references, and intimate confessions collide in a voice that is both wryly detached and deeply visceral. Unapologetically playful yet emotionally precise, And Another Thing is a collection that refuses to settle, slipping between personas and perceptions with an electrifying sense of movement and reinvention.

PRAISE for And Another Thing:

I love this book. It makes me want a fucking drink. These poems are cool and piercing like a skater in summer.

— Alex Dimitrov

These poems swerve, self-interrupting as the lyric torques the way they drive. They smash and hitch; they slide out like so many drawers. Here, the voice reveals as much as the narrative—self-building and world-building intertwined in the same project. The meditations are fueled by intuition and innovation. The propulsions are shamelessness and sheer fire. Smart and playful, thick with sound and sparkling with exploration, this collection arrives as if dropped from a great height: sudden and unexpected, perhaps a bit otherworldly.

— Richard Siken
